4.2 Adaptation
50C90 Smartspine Collar
The brace is delivered ready for trial fitting. Adjustment is not required.
► Optional: Shorten the hook-and-loop closure to the desired length (see
fig. 9).
50C91 Smartspine Universal Collar
1) Turn the brace lock on both sides to the position [ open ] (see fig. 1).
2) Engage the brace on both sides in the corresponding position (1-9) (see
fig. 2).
CAUTION! Ensure that the brace setting is the same on both sides.
3) Turn the brace lock on both sides to the position [ closed ] (see fig. 3).
4) Optional: Shorten the hook-and-loop closure to the desired length (see
fig. 6).
4.3 Application
CAUTION
Use on skin sensitive to heat
Skin irritation due to overheating
► Do not use the product in case of a known heat allergy.
► When in doubt, do not continue to use the product if skin irritation
occurs.
CAUTION
Incorrect or excessively tight application
Risk of local pressure and constriction of blood vessels and nerves due to
improper or excessively tight application
► Ensure that the brace is applied properly and fits correctly.
NOTICE
Use of a worn or damaged product
Limited effectiveness
► Instruct the patient to inspect the product for proper functionality,
wear, and damage prior to each use.
► Advise the patient that the product may not be used if the product or
part of the product exhibits signs of wear (e.g. cracks, deformation,
poor fit) or damage.
