Installation instructions
CAUTION
Risk of damage due to improper installation
Ensure that no notches are made in the joint bar material during milling since this creates predetermined breaking
points.
15
Measure the length of the accompanying cable dummies:
Dummy for the cable between the knee joint and electronics (7 mm wide, see fig. 17)
Perlon wire for the cable connecting the electronics to the battery (see fig. 18)
17
Fasten the cable dummies onto the designated recesses of the electronics and battery dummies as follows:
From the knee joint to the electronics
From the electronics to the battery
Fasten the dummies of the battery with receptacle and the electronics with receptacle with Plastilin® moulding
dough.
Fill the edges between the dummies and the socket with Plastilin® moulding dough in order to achieve a smooth
transition (see fig. 19). Check, ideally with a spatula, that there is one millimetre of clearance between the dummy
overhangs and the Plastilin® moulding dough. Pull one layer of 99B25 nylon stockinette over the finished orthosis
on the plaster model. In this way, the following base coat will be siphoned off evenly. The area of the receptacles is
reinforced with a layer of carbon (see fig. 20).
