3.6.2

Fitting the source enclosure to the instrument

Required material
Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
Warning:
To avoid personal contamination with biohazards or toxic materials, wear
chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves while performing this procedure.
To fit the source enclosure:
1.
Using both hands, slide the source enclosure onto the instrument's supporting rods.
2.
To secure the enclosure against the instrument, tighten the 2 thumbscrews on the front of
the source enclosure.

Connect the electrical cable to the socket on the right-hand side of the instrument's front
panel, and tighten the screws.

Maintaining the source components

Clean the source components when these conditions apply:
The sample cone and cone gas nozzle are visibly damaged.
You have dismissed inlet and sample-related causes for decreased signal intensity.
