Parameter Description
CRC Check • Enabled: Cyclical Redundancy Checking is performed on all
communications using ROC protocol.
• Disabled: No CRC is performed.
I/O Scanning • Enabled: All I/O scanning is performed as configured.
• Disabled: No I/O scanning is performed. The most recent
values are used in Model 3711 processing until scanning is
resumed.
Pass Through Click the radio button for the pair of com ports to be used in
Mode passthrough mode. The first port in the pair is the receiving port
and the second port is the transmitting port. Any messages
receiving on the receiving port will be automatically transmitted
to all devices that are connected to the transmitting port.
Set RTS High for Used to activate the RTS (Request to Send) signal for
30 Secs 30 seconds. To use it, check the port that you want to activate,
then click Apply.
Power Saving Not applicable to the Model 3711.

Using the optional dial-up modem

The optional dial-up modem can be controlled using industry-standard AT command software, which
is compatible with EIA document TR302.2/88-08006. The Config Command field on the dial-up
modem panel (see Figure 4-2) is used to enter the commands.
Before powering up the Model 3711, ensure that the modem is set to Auto Answer (the default mode
for the dial-up modem card). Micro Motion recommends that modem status be checked periodically
to ensure that it is in Auto Answer mode.

Managing user programs

The User Programs panel in the Flags window is shown in Figure 14-3. This panel allows you to
enable or disable specific user programs. For the Model 3711, the Calc User Program and the COM1
User Program must always be enabled.
