Introduction

This manual describes the standard Photonfocus MV1-D4096 camera series (short notation is
D4096) that have a Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) interface. The cameras contain a CMV12000 image
sensor (12 MP) from CMOSIS.

2.1 Camera Naming convention

The naming convention of the D4096 camera series is summarized in Fig. 2.1.

Prefix1 MV1: standard Machine Vision camera.
Prefix2 Camera family specifier. The following specifiers are used in this manual: D: standard
area scan cameras with global shutter and a digital interface.
Sensor width Number of active pixels in horizontal direction.
Camera speed The camera speed is usually the product of the frequency of the internal
processing clock in MHz and the number of parallel interface channels (taps).
Interface type G2: GigE interface with RS-422 differential inputs.
Interface resolution Maximal resolution [bit] of the image sensor output.

2.2 Camera list

A list of all cameras covered in this manual is shown in Table 2.1 (see also Table 4.2).
Abbreviated camera names are used in this manual to increase readability. The following
abbreviations are used (see also Table 2.1):
