AIR (Purge Air)

At its front, the Limax
the plume generated during laser application from the beam path of the laser applicator.
Focusing handpiece with attached supply fiber
This prevents laser light absorption as well as dirt accumulation on the laser applicator. When
using the focusing handpiece, the purge air flow is transmitted through the supply fiber
together with the laser light; when using other purged fiber applicators, it is conducted
through the surrounding air tubing.
When using AIR (purge air) together with a focusing handpiece (4) for example, the airflow is
delivered into the focusing handpiece (4) through a supply fiber (1). The purge air flow (2)
subsequently exits the focusing handpiece together with the laser light (3) from the distal
opening of the front sleeve.
The purge air is provided by the medical compressed-air (AIR) supply system of the operating
room using adjustable valves. An air hose is used to deliver the compressed air (AIR) from the
air outlet of the operating room to the rear panel of the Limax
CAUTION
Always connect / remove the compressed-air hose in the correct order!
The air pressure of the AIR (purge air) on the Luer-Lock connection of the supply fiber may
have a maximum of 5 bar!
