3. Controlling the stapler motor in the presence of a staple jam
If a staple jams in the stapler unit or some other trouble occurs there, the stapler motor (M5) is
controlled as follows:
1) A staple jam imposes an overload on the stapler
motor.
2) The stapler cannot return to the home position
within 1 second after starting stapling operation.
3) The staple motor reverses the rotation to move the
stapler unit back to the home position.
4) A warning is sent to the copier.
