MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

BATTERY

Due to natural discharge and due to leakage effects of some
electrical equipment, the battery will discharge gradually even
when the vehicle is not in use. If the vehicle is parked for a long
time, the battery may discharge and engine may not start.
Charge the battery one time in a month if not in use. This will
maintain the battery life.
Lead batteries contain toxic and corrosive sulfuric acid and may
produce flammable explosive hydrogen gas. To reduce the risk of
serious injury or death, the following precautions should be observed
when handling lead batteries or working near them:
• Do not smoke or light a matches near battery.
• Avoid splashing electrolyte on eyes, skin and clothes.
• Wear safety goggles when working near battery.
• Keep children away from batteries.
• Be sure to charge the battery in an open area. Do not charge a
