Title

Page borders are printed lightly Microsoft Word2007/2010

Symptom
When a file in which page borders were used in Microsoft Word2007/2010 was printed to an iR-ADV series
machine, the print was lighter than that from an LBP machine. Calibration with special fine line processing
was ineffective.
Cause
iR-ADV series machines draw and reproduce the page borders faithfully with the specified width, while LBP
machines reproduce the page borders with a width greater than the specified width according to the
specifications. Therefore, such a difference appears. Further, the reason why the calibration with special fine
line processing is ineffective is that the page borders are sensed an image. In the special fine line
processing, since texts/lines are the objects to be applied, it is ineffective for images.
Service work
The symptom is improved with the workaround below:
Perform printing by setting File > Print > Properties > Quality tab > Advanced Settings... > Halftones >
"Resolution" and also by setting Sharpness > "3[High]".
