The password cannot be a single space, and it cannot be empty (nothing). The initial (factory‑set)
password is the serial number of the unit. The default after a reset is
case‑sensitive.
Instead of the actual password, the unit responds with four asterisks (****) if a password exists,
and it responds with an empty field (nothing) if no password exists.
