Flash Power Output Adjustment
Select dial located on the flash back panel, can be use to adjust power output from 1/256 to
1/1 in 0.1 stop increments, where 1/256 is the minimum power setting and 1/1 is the
maximum. This parameter will be shown on the LCD screen. Power scale represents fracture
of the max power output of the flash e.g. if you want to trigger the flash with the half of its
nominal power you have to set the scale on 1/2., when minimum power output is needed, set
1/256. To estimate what amount of light is needed to properly expose the picture for the
given ISO and aperture, you have to use external flashmeter or shoot test pictures with
various power settings. When you want to decrease power output e.g. from 1/2 to 1/16 you
should press TEST button to dump the excess power stored inside the flash capacitors.
The following table represents how the power output scale is changing when you are
decreasing or increasing power output by rotating the Select Dial.

Slave triggering (optical)

Flash is equipped with built-in optical slave allowing to trigger the flash without the necessity
of connection by sync cord or additional remote trigger. There are three optical slave
triggering modes to choose from. Push <S1|S2> button to activate one of the options:
S1
In M manual flash mode, press <S1|S2> button to choose S1 function, so that this flash can
function as an optical S1 secondary flash with optic sensor. With this function, the flash will
fire synchronously when the main flash fires, the same effect as that by the use of radio
triggers. This helps create multiple lighting effects
S2
Press < MENU > button to enter C.Fn-SLAVE to choose S2 function, so that this flash can also
function as an optical S2 secondary flash with optical sensor in M manual flash mode. This is
