Test
1 Check cable and terminal integrity:
- ECM pin A29
- ECM pin B20
2 Check resistance value:
- ECM pin A29 to ECM pin B20
(Temperature dependent, see below)
3 Check cable continuity:
- ECM pin A29 to sensor pin 1
- ECM pin B20 to sensor pin 2
4 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A29 to ECM pin B20
5 Check sensor resistance:
- Sensor pin 1 to sensor pin 2
(Temperature dependent - see below)
6 Check cable for short circuit:
- ECM pin A29 to ground
7 Reconnect harness, clear fault code and run
engine to verify fault cleared
Resistance data under typical conditions:
Warm engine:

Locate and rectify wiring fault, proceed to test

Renew temp sensor, proceed to test 7
