4. Install:
• Battery
5. Connect/Inspect:
• Battery breather pipe®
Be sure the pipe is properly attached
and routed.
Pass through guide
Inside reararm
When inspecting the battery, be sure the
breather pipe is routed correctly. If the
breather pipe touches the frame or exits in
such a way as to cause battery electrolyte or
gas to exit onto the frame, structural and
cosmetic damage to the motorcycle can oc-
cur.
6. Inspect:
• Battery breather pipe
Obstruction — Remove
Damage — Replace

1. Inspect:
• Electrode®
Wear/Damage — Replace
• Insulator color (2)
Normal condition is a medium to light
tan color.
Distinctly different color — Check the
engine condition.
