Appendix B: Import and Export
Field Names
The following table shows all the fields available for
application. This table lists each available Field Name as it appears in the View-Routes-
Maintenance screen on the Import and Export tabs. It lists which protocols are applicable
for the field as follows:
Vehicle (VE/RR), Call-In PhonRead
Import and Export or just Export. It lists a description of the functionality of this field, the
maximum length of the field, and finally any special notes that apply to this field. The special
notes follow the tables of the fields in this document.

Imp/Exp Unique identification number
encoded into electronic registers
or, inscribed on non-AutoRead
(Manually Read) registers. A unique
meter ID is required for every meter
to be read. On Sensus\Invensys
electronic registers, this number can
be found on the side of the register
on a white sticker. If the meter is
manually read, a unique meter ID
is still required. This field should be
the exact digits on the sticker. This
field should not be zero filled nor
any lead zeroes stripped from the
exact ID. Any remaining positions of
the field width should be filled with
blanks.
Imp/Exp Type of service—gas, electric, water.
This is a G for Gas, P for 3-Port
Gas, E for Electric, or W for Water
