– Turn each locking element by hand to correct position so that
groove on locking element is visible.
– Engage hook - T40207- in hole on locking element from below
and pull it off piston rod in direction of -arrow-. Repeat proce‐
dure with remaining locking elements.
– Turn locking element by hand to correct position so that groove
on locking element is visible.
– Engage hook - T40207- in hole on locking element from below
and pull it off piston rod in direction of -arrow-.
– When all locking elements have been removed from vehicle:
Remove tag on interior mirror.
Note
Take care not to damage the boot or the surface coating on
the spring.

The following applies to all components shown below:
There must be no noticeable or visual play.
As a rule you can identify damage to the boots/drive shaft
boots by emerging grease.
Check that retaining rings and spring-type clips are seated
correctly.
