3.1.3 IP Config

The Internet Protocol (IP) is a protocol used for communicating data across a
packet-switched internetwork using the Internet Protocol Suite, also referred to as
TCP/IP.
IP is the primary protocol in the Internet Layer of the Internet Protocol Suite and has the
task of delivering distinguished protocol datagrams (packets) from the source host to the
destination host solely based on their addresses. For this purpose the Internet Protocol
defines addressing methods and structures for datagram encapsulation.
It must be configured only if this interface is used for management IP traffic.
If IP and mask is 0.0.0.0 , it means that it is working at DHCP mode.

Note: If IPDSLAM is used standalone, the user needs to configure these settings for
management. The default value is 0.0.0.0 for both.

3.1.4 Default Route

A default route is the network route used by a router when no other known route exists
for a given IP packet's destination address. All the packets for destinations not known by
the router's routing table are sent to the default route. This route generally leads to another
router, which treats the packet the same way: If the route is known, the packet will get
forwarded to the known route. If not, the packet is forwarded to the default-route of that
router which generally leads to another router.
