Installation for a Windows TCP/IP Network Connection
Open the "LPRPORT" folder on the provided software CD-ROM and
double-click the SETUP file (SETUP.EXE). After installing LPR Port,
follow the same procedure for connecting the printer and installing the
Windows printer driver for a parallel port connection. The example
described here is for Windows Me, Windows 98, or Windows 95.
Note
If the printer is connected to a TCP/IP network, the TCP/IP protocol must be
installed in Windows. In the Control Panel double-click the Network icon and
confirm that "TCP/IP" is included in the components list on the Configuration
sheet. If "TCP/IP" is not in the list, click the Add button, then double-click
"Protocol" in the list. In the "Select Network Protocol" dialog, click "Microsoft" in
the left list and install "TCP/IP".
If the computer is on, switch the computer off before you start this procedure.

Press the Power button to switch the printer on.
After a few seconds "Ready" is displayed in the operation panel and the
Online lamp lights.

Switch on the Windows computer.

Mount the provided software CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.
First, the language selection screen opens. Select the appropriate language.

On the desktop double-click the My Computer icon and click the CD-
ROM drive icon. From the File menu select Open, double-click the
"LPRPORT" folder, then double-click the SETUP file (SETUP.EXE).
Follow the instructions on the screen to install the LPD connection
utility LPR Port.
This port is installed as standard with Windows XP and Windows 2000, so if
you are using either Windows XP or Windows 200 this installation is not
required. Go to the next step.
If you are using Windows NT 4.0, in the Control Panel open Network and on
the Service sheet confirm whether Microsoft TCP/IP Printing is installed. If
it is not installed, click the Add button, select Microsoft TCP/IP Printing for
Network Service, then install it from the operating system CD-ROM.
