Fabric channels 1 and 2 with full four ports each provide connections to the hub slots in a dual
star configuration.
In addition to these 2x4 GbE fabric connections, ports 0 and 1 of fabric channels 13 and 14 are
also connected to the GbE switch on the AT8402. This enables full meshed operation in sys-
tems with up to 5 slots and a custom backplane.

The default upstream port (root complex) is port 8 (AMC B2).
The PEX8532 reads the strapping signal pins to determine the selection of the system mode,
the upstream port selected, and the lane configuration of all of the ports. The mode and lane
configuration are fixed, the upstream port and the transparent bridge port are predefined by the
IPMC via the CPLD. Any change in the strapping settings requires a reset of the PEX8532.
