    Getting to Know the Gateway Front Panel The front panel of your SMCD3GNV Wireless Cable Modem Gateway contains a set of light- emitting diode (LED) indicators. These LEDs show the status of the Gateway and simplify troubleshooting. Figure 1 shows the front panel of the SMCD3GNV Wireless Cable Modem Gateway. Table 1 describes the front panel LEDs.

    Installing the Gateway Finding a Suitable Location Your SMCD3GNV Wireless Cable Modem Gateway can be installed in any location with access to the cable network. All of the cables connect to the rear panel of the Gateway for better organization and utility. The LED indicators on the front panel are easily visible to provide you with information about network activity and status.
