    IP Address Pool A dynamic IP st art address may be specif ied by t he user, e. g. 10. 1. 10. 1 (def ault value). Once t his st art IP address has been assigned, IP addresses running f rom 10. 1. 10. 10 t o 10. 1. 10. 199 will be part of t he dynamic IP address pool.

    6. 7 | Firewall The Wireless Cable Modem Gat eway provides a st at ef ul inspect ion f irewall (SPI), which is designed t o prot ect against Denial of Service (DoS) at t acks when act ivat ed. It s purpose is t o allow a privat e local area net work (LAN) t o be securely connect ed t o t he Int ernet .
