Exhaust filter system - Inspecting the gas-washing bottle
Warning! Toxic or flammable substances!
The sparking process produces a black precipitate (metal condensate). The
condensate could be toxic or flammable, depending on the sample material.
Protective gloves and safety goggles must always be worn when cleaning the
spark stand and when cleaning the gas-washing bottle or the filter bottle. This
also applies when replacing the filter insert.
When disposing of the condensate and the used filters, compliance with legal
regulations is mandatory.
In order to inspect the gas-washing bottle, proceed as follows:
1.
Floor instrument:
Open the right door of the instrument.
Benchtop instrument:
Turn the opening of the filter cartridge container to the front.
2.
Check the water level inside the
filter cartridge.
The gas-washing bottle must
be filled half with water (see
marking on the gas-washing
bottle).
The water must be clean.
3.
For refilling, grab the filter cartridge (2) with both hands and unscrew it.
4.
Refill water or change it as required.
