Enabling IP Routing Services on a Port

The ability to switch IP Routing Services on and off on a port-by-port
basis, provides great flexibility. On the same device, some ports can be
routing IP traffic while other ports are bridging it. If you are in transition
from a bridged network to a routed network, this flexibility enables you to
implement IP routing and test your routing configuration on a
port-by-port basis. If necessary, you can temporarily disable the IP
routing on any port without losing your configuration, or you can
temporarily switch from IP routing back to bridging.
To enable IP Routing Services on a router port, complete the following
steps:
1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the IP Routing field.
2. Use the ENTER key to toggle the entry to ENABLED.
3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the SAVE command field at the
bottom of the screen, and then press ENTER. The message "SAVED
OK" displays.
