3. Remove carbon deposits from the
spark arrester using a brush.

4. Inspect mesh of spark arrester for
any damage. Replace as required.
5. Inspect spark arrester chamber in
muffler. Remove any debris as
required.
6. Reinstall the muffler spark arrester
in the reverse of the removal pro-
cedure. However pay attention to
the following.
Install new gasket and fasteners.
Tighten to specification.

1. Place the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Select PARK position.
3. Clean dipstick area.
4. Remove the gearbox oil dipstick.
32 ± 2 Nm
(24 ± 1 lbf-ft)
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
5. Wipe and reinstall the dipstick.
6. Remove dipstick again and check
oil level. It should be near or equal
to the upper mark.

3. Operating range
7. Add oil (if required):
1. Place a funnel into the dipstick
hole.
2. Add a small amount of recom-
mended oil.
3. Recheck oil level often.
4. Repeat the above procedures
until oil level reaches the dip-
stick's upper mark.
