1. Insert D. E. S. S. key on D. E. S. S.
post.
2. Press the brake pedal.
N N O O T T E E : :
If shift lever is not set to
PARK (P), the brake pedal must be
pressed to allow engine starting.
3. Press the engine start button and
hold it until the engine starts.
N N O O T T E E : : Do not press the accelerator
pedal. If the accelerator pedal is
pressed at least 50%, the engine will
not start.
4. Release the engine start button
immediately when the engine has
started.

Press and release the START button
for less than half a second and the
electrical system will turn ON:
– For 20 seconds, w w i i t t h h o o u u t t powering
any equipment, if the D.E.S.S. key
is N N O O T T installed on the D.E.S.S.
post.
– For 10 minutes, powering equip-
ment, if the D.E.S.S. key is in-
stalled on the D.E.S.S. post. The
electrical system will shutdown
after 20 seconds if the D.E.S.S.
key is removed.

sired shift lever position while the
engine is at idle.
2. Release brakes.

It is important to limit situations known
to make the drive belt slip excessively.
The main reason the drive belt will slip
is if the gearbox is in high range when
it should be in low range.
Pay attention to the following:
L L o o w w R R a a n n g g e e
Low range should be used whenever:
– Pulling
– Pushing
– Hauling a load
– 4x4 applications
– Mud holes
– Water holes
– Crossing obstacles
– Climbing onto trailer
– Hill climbing
It is also recommended to use low
range if driving for prolonged periods
at speeds under 24 km/h (15 MPH).
