3.2 Function

HandyStep® S is a repetitive pipette for fast and simple repetitive liquid
dispensing. The combination of PD-Tip size and the stroke setting made
on the stroke setting dial enables volumes between 2 µl and 5 ml to be
dispensed with maximum precision and accuracy.

3.3 Usage limits

See Limitations of use, p. 34 .

3.4 Exclusions of use

• When the instrument is operated properly, the dosed sample comes
in contact only with the tip and not with the HandyStep® S itself.
• The user is responsible for checking the suitability of the instrument
for the intended use. Before using third-party dispenser tips, the user
must verify their suitability and carry out a function/volume test!
• Do not use the instrument for dispensing liquids that corrode
polypropylene (including cylinder PD-Tips), polyethylene (piston PD-
Tips), LCP (piston 0.1 ml PD-Tip) or PC/PBT and polycarbonate.
Instrument and tips are not autoclavable (sterile PD-Tips see Ordering In-
formation, p. 48 ). PD-Tips are disposable products. Standard disinfec-
tants can be used to disinfect the instrument, as long as they do not cor-
rode PC/PBT and PC.
