3. Remove the protective cap from the baffle assembly
4. Screw the baffle assembly
Attention Do not to put any pressure on the input of RSB1(/M).
5. Position the locking ring
the RSB1(/M) Base Unit.
6. Position the SM1 connecting ring towards the RSB1(/M) Base Unit such that the open end
of the baffle assembly is not covered by the connecting ring.
7. Mount the post
8. Position the RSBC1(/M) with the post on the breadboard and with the Raman scattering
output aperture facing the open end of the baffle assembly. A 1.5 mm (0.59'') gap needs to
remain between the end of the baffle assembly and the RSBC1(/M) main body.
9. Adjust the height of the RSBC1(/M) main body by turning the locking screw on the post
(11 ).

10. Use the SM1M05 connecting ring
the connection between the baffle assembly and the RSBC1(/M) front end.
11. The distance between the RSBC1(/M) and RSB1(/M) is critical for the Raman measure-
ment. For the correct distance, position the locking ring on the baffle assembly such that
the distance between the thick SM1 internal thread end of the baffle assembly and the
locking ring measures 17.6 mm (6.93").
12. Position the connecting ring accordingly.
13. Secure the setup by tightening the locking ring.
14. Secure the mounting post on the RSBC1(/M) main body on the breadboard using the
clamping fork.
Attention Do not to exert any force on the input of RSB1(/M). If necessary, open the
height adjustment screw on the post during application of the clamp and tighten it after-
wards.
