7.2.2 Transport position

NOTE
Ø Check all plug-and-socket connections (hydraulic, electric and pneumatic) for
cleanliness and firm seating.
Dirty connectors will contaminate the flowing media. The connectors there-
fore become worn and this results in malfunctions and failures in the connec-
ted assembly groups.
1. Clean the towing facilities of machine and tractor and check for wear.
2. Move the tractor to the machine for coupling. Pick up the lower coupling
points of the machines with the tractor link arms and secure them. Insert the
safety elements of the catching hooks and secure the bolts on the tractor link
arm with cotter pins.
3. Couple the upper link, secure the bolt with the cotter pin. Use the position fit-
ting for the respective tractor:
4. Lock the tractor link arms against swinging sideways.
5. Connect the hydraulic lines, see chapter Hydraulics.
6. Connect the lighting system.
7. Plug on the hose assembly from the front implement and tighten the hose
clamps.
8. Check before starting to drive whether the machine has been properly connec-
ted and secured.
WARNING
Danger of traffic accidents
Before driving off:
Ø Clean all picked up soil from the entire machine.
Ø Check function of lighting system.
Ø Lock the control units mechanically or electrically, depending on the version,
during transport travel. Never switch them to the floating position.
Ø Check all interlocks before starting to drive.
Ø Check whether all securing elements of the connection are in place as set cor-
rectly.
Ø Check components of the connection for wear.
