Unpacking and Installation

This chapter contains the following instructions for unpacking and installing the
PowerVault 130T:
Preparing the Site and clearance for a pedestal
Tools required
Unpacking the PowerVault 130T
Unpacking the interior of the PowerVault 130T
Inspecting the PowerVault 130T
Connecting the external SCSI cables
Connecting the external AC power cable

Preparing the Site

Complete the following steps to prepare the PowerVault 130T installation site:
1.
Be sure the location is clean, dry, level, and ventilated.
2.
Allow 44.5 cm (17 .5 in.) of vertical clearance for the desktop. Allow 48 cm (19 in.) for
library width and 72.5 cm (28.5 in.) for depth.
3.
Allow the following additional clearances:
Front; 50.8 cm (20 in.)
Rear; 20.5 cm (8 in.) operating minimum 61 cm (24 in.) minimum for servicing
4.
Be sure the location has adequate AC power.
If you have a pedestal PowerVault 130T , place it in a location where there is adequate air
flow behind and around your PowerVault 130T . Follow the guidelines above.

A of this manual.
