  • Page 5 LTO-3. LTO-1 tape drive modules and LTO-3 tape drive modules cannot be present in the same tape library. However, the PowerVault 136T tape library will support a mix of LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drive modules in the same library. This mixed drive support requires that the barcode labels on all tape media have the correct media identifier (that is, L2 on LTO-2 media, L3 on LTO-3 media, and LT for LTO-3 WORM media).
  • Page 6 • Remote management card You must download the latest firmware package from the Dell Support website at support.dell.com. After you extract the firmware package, the files will be located at c:\dell\drivers\rxxxxx\library\, where rxxxxx is the release number of the downloaded firmware package.
  • Page 7 5 Enter the following command: Dell_LTO3_Update <Com Port#> where: <Com Port#> represents the COM port to which the serial cable is connected. 6 The command will attempt to connect to the tape library. Turn the tape library on when the following message is displayed in the command prompt window: If processing does not continue after 20 seconds, cycle power on the library.
  • Page 8 Select the Security tab. Select Trusted sites. Click the Sites button. Add the IP address of the PowerVault 136T remote management card to the list of trusted sites. Click Done and then click OK to exit the Internet Options. 5 Click the Firmware tab on the main page.
