  • Page 3 This document provides procedures for updating your LTO-1 tape drive module to an LTO-2 tape drive module in the Dell™ PowerVault™ 136T LTO tape library. You must perform the following procedures to complete the update: • Removing the LTO-1 drive modules •...
  • Page 4 • Remote management controller card You must download the latest firmware package from the Dell Support website at support.dell.com. After you download the package, the firmware file will be located at c:\dell\drivers\rxxxxx\library\LTO2, where rxxxxx is the release number of the downloaded firmware package.
  • Page 5 , and then run the Dell_LTO2_Update <Com Port#> file, where <Com Port#> represents the COM port to which the serial cable is connected. NOTE: The downloaded firmware file is located at c:\dell\drivers\rxxxxx\library\LTO2, where rxxxxx is the release number of the downloaded firmware package.
  • Page 6 After the update is complete, reboot the tape library. Ensure that the tape library operator panel does not display error messages. The tape library firmware version can be verified in the About menu on the library’s operator panel. The version is also displayed in the Library Firmware field on the main Web page of the remote management controller card.
