  • Page 5 Overview This document provides requirements for operating a mix of LTO-2 and LTO-3 drives in the Dell™ PowerVault™ 136T LTO tape library. The following requirements must be met in order to operate a mixed mode library: • LTO-2 and LTO-3 drive modules are installed in the library.

Download the latest firmware package and instructions for the PV136T from the Dell Support website at support.dell.com.   • Page 8 Backup, does not support mixing of LTO-2 and LTO-3 drives. It is also recommended that you do not use native Linux utilities, such as Tar, due to the lack of media management capabilities. Dell highly recommends using qualified third party backup software for media and job management.
