Safety and ESD
The following pages cover guidelines to help protect your computer system from potential
damage and ensure your personal safety.
CAUTION: Only authorized service personnel should attempt to service your
PowerVault 130T Library.

Safety Warnings

Before operating this product read all safety and operating instructions. Retain these
instructions for future reference. This unit has been engineered and manufactured to
assure your personal safety. Improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire
hazards. Observe the following basic rules for the PowerVault 130T installation, use and
servicing.
Attention to Warnings- All warnings on the product and in the operating instructions
should be followed.
Follow Instructions- All operating and user instructions should be followed.
Ventilation- Place the library in a location or position that does not interfere with proper
ventilation.
Heat- Place the PowerVault 130T in a location away from heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, furnaces, or other heat producing appliances.
Power Sources- Plug the power cord into a power source as described in this
documentation. Refer to Chapter 2 for more information.
Power Cord Protection- Route the AC power cord so that it is out of the way. Do not
walk on the power cord, place anything on top of it, or against it.
Take Care- Make sure liquids are not spilled on or in the library. Do not drop any
objects inside any openings of the PowerVault 130T Library.
Servicing- Do not attempt to service the product beyond what is described in this
guide. Contact qualified service personal for all other types of servicing.
