7. Verify the position of the handle on the transceiver. If the transceiver is
in a top port, the handle should be in the upright position, as shown in
Figure 35. If the transceiver is in a bottom port, the handle should be in
the down position.

8. Connect the fiber optic cable to the transceiver, as shown in Figure 36
on page 77. The connector on the cable should fit snugly into the port,
and the tab should lock the connector into place.
