6. 13. Cloning (942 906)
6. 13. 1. General
Several Dialers can be programmed to operate identically by using a method called cloning.
One Dialer is programmed (referred to as the Master) and then connected to other Dialers
(referred to as the Slaves) you wish to program. The exchange of information takes
approximately five minutes after it is initiated by entering the clone command from the Master
Dialer. The cloning method can only be used with Dialers of the same revision.
6. 13. 2. Conditions
The following conditions apply when cloning:
•
you can only clone units of the same revision level
•
the Slave unit must be
•
one Slave is connected to one Master at any one time during cloning
6. 13. 3. Procedur
To clone a Dialer:
1. Connect the power to the Master Dialer
2. Using an MF4 telephone, enter program mode by entering #0
3. Modem tone should then be heard, followed by a F
4. Enter 942 and you will hear FF
5. Enter 906 and you will hear FF
6. Hang up the telephone. The Master Dialer will remain in Clone Master Mode after the
telephone is hung up
7. Verify that the LED on the Master Dialer is flashing the colour green. The flashing green
LED indicates that the Master Dialer is in Clone Master Mode
8. Connect the line marked "LINE OUT" on the Master Dialer to the line marked "FAX" of
the Slave Dialer with the RJ11 cable. The line marked "LINE OUT" on the Slave Dialer
must be open
9. Power up the Slave Dialer
10. Verify that the LED on the Slave Dialer is flashing the colour green
11. Wait approximately five minutes for the cloning process to complete
