13. Firmware Management Utility

The purpose of the Windows-based Firmware Management Utility is to provide an automated process for upgrading
all B024-DPU08 and B024-DPU16 KVM switches in an installation. The program comes as part of a Firmware
Upgrade Package that is specific for each device.
As new firmware versions become available, new firmware upgrade packages are posted on our website. Check the
website regularly to find the latest information and packages.

13.1 Downloading the Firmware Upgrade Package

To download the firmware upgrade package:
1. From a computer that is not part of your KVM installation, go to tripplite.com and choose the model name that
relates to your device. A list of available firmware upgrade packages appears.
2. Choose the firmware upgrade package that you wish to install (usually the most recent) and download it to your
computer.

13.2 Preparation

To prepare for the firmware upgrade, do the following:
1. Use the Firmware Upgrade Cable provided with this unit to connect a COM port on your computer to the
Firmware Upgrade Port of your switch.
2. Shut down all computers on the KVM installation.
3. From your KVM switch console, login to the OSD as the administrator (see 9.1 OSD Login) and select the F4
Admin function.
4. Scroll down to Firmware Upgrades. Press [Enter], then press [Y] to invoke Firmware Upgrade mode (refer to
"Firmware Upgrade" in the table in section 9.6.4 F4: Admin for details).

Invoke the Firmware Upgrade mode using RS-232 command (see 12.4.11 Firmware Upgrade).
