The alarms can be grouped into two categories:
• memorised type - are constantly displayed on the screen
even when the alarm is no longer present. The R button
reset the memorised alarm condition (only if the cause has
been removed);
Battery 1
battery 1 voltage less than 9,6V or greater
alarm:
than 16,2V.
Battery 1
battery 2 voltage less than 9,6V or greater
alarm:
than 16,2V.
Low oil pressure
low engine oil pressure, the panel checks 60
alarm:
seconds after the engine starts.
High engine
high engine temperature, the panel checks
temperature:
10 seconds after the engine starts.
Start
all starting attempts have been made without
failure:
the motor starting.
Pick-up
this occurs when the system does not detect
alarm:
any signal from the pick-up while the engine
is running. When this alarm occurs, the
display shows STOP; if the alarm condition
cannot be reset by pressing the button R, it
is necessary to press the stop button 0.
• non-memorised type - are constantly displayed on the
screen only when the alarm is present. The alarm condition
will automatically reset once the cause of the alarm has been
removed;
Battery charger 1
this occurs when battery charger 1 is inef-
failure:
ficient.
Battery charger 2
this occurs when battery charger 2 is inef-
failure:
ficient.
Oil/water heater
Heating resistance power supply circuit
short circuit alarm:
protection tripping.
Fuel reserve
this occurs when the fuel is running low, or
alarm:
drops below 70% of the tank volume.
Mains failure
this occurs when the mains voltage is not
alarm:
present.

12.5 Light signal operation check

Press the specific button, all the warning lights will light up
showing their correct operation.

12.6 Pressure switch test

Two control pressure switches for each main pump are required
on the fire-fighting main pumping sets, as specified in the EN
12845 standard.
The operation of every single pressure switch is then to be
checked regularly, and for this reason the control panels are
equipped with a device that allows the check of the proper
operation for every single pressure.
Before starting the following procedure be sure that the LEDs
of the buttons P1 and P2 are switched off. If they are lit with a
steady light perform first the procedure described in the next
paragraph, until the LEDs of P1 and P2 are not switched off. At
this point you can proceed as described below.
• Set the key selector on TEST.
• Press button P1, the corresponding LED lights flashing.
• Open the valve in order to make the system pressure go
down; the panel will start the pump through the P1 (pressure
switch 1).
• Close the water valve and wait for the system to reach nomi-
nal pressure; at this point switch off the pump by pressing
the button 0 (manual stop).
• Press P2 and repeat the instructions in the previous point to
verify correct operation of pressure switch 2.

12.7 Emergency starting circuit check

As specified in the EN 12845 standard, two buttons protected
by glass for the emergency starting of the diesel engine are
envisaged on the pumping set; a periodical test must be
executed for checking the operation of these buttons without
breaking the protective glass (EN 12845).
The diesel pump control panel is equipped with two buttons P1
and P2 that in addition to fulfilling the aim of the pressure switch
testing (described in the previous paragraph), also allow to test
the functionality of the emergency starting circuit.
For this latter purpose, the two buttons P1 and P2 automatically
become active and the yellow LED lights up with a steady light
(as prescribed by the norm) only in the following two cases:
• after an automatic engine start followed by a stop,
• after 6 unsuccessful attempts to start.
When the buttons are on with a steady light, it is possible to run
the test.
• Press a button P1 until the motor starts.
• Press the button 0 to stop engine.
The lamp of the pressed button P1 will switch off.
Repeat the test with the second button P2. The test is com-
pleted when both buttons are off.

12.8 Manual operation.

• Set the key selector on TEST.
• Start the engine by pressing the manual start button I.
• Perform the necessary tests.
• Stop the engine by pressing the manual motor stop button 0.
After pressing the stop button 0, the display shows the mes-
sage STOP.
• When the display shows "Engine OFF", after about 8 sec-
onds it's possible to reposition the selector to AUT.

12.9 Automatic operation

• Set the key selector on AUT,
• for lowering fire network pressure, the pressure switches will
provide the input for the starting of the pump,
• the pump stops by positioning the key selector on TEST and
pressing the manual stop button 0. After pressing the stop
button 0, the display shows the message STOP.
• When the display shows "Engine OFF", after about 8 sec-
onds it's possible to reposition the selector to AUT.
For applications with hose reel systems the stopping of the
diesel pump can be controlled by an internal timer.

12.10 Emergency operation

In the case of an emergency and when the engine has not
started, it is in any case possible to start the engine directly by
the batteries and regardless of the control panel settings or by
the pressure switch command.
There are two buttons for enabling this function (one per bat-
tery) and they are protected by a breakable glass.

12.11 Alarm reset

Alarm signalling can be reset by pressing the button "R" and
leaving the key selector on AUT.
Only the pump start failure alarm resets after having put the key
selector on 0.
The low oil pressure and high motor temperature alarms reset
only after the motor is switched off.
