7. Operation

7.1

Charging mode 3

WARNING
Risk of injury by unsuitable aids
Use of adapter plugs, extensions, or additional charging
cables in connection with the device can result in electric
shock or cable fire.
f Use only the charging cable intended for the vehicle
and the device.
f Do not use adapter plugs, extensions, or additional
charging cables to charge the vehicle.

Starting the charging process
f Make sure that vehicle and charging cable are suitable
for mode 3 charging.
f Connect the charging cable to the vehicle.
f Insert the plug fully into the charging socket type 2 of
the charging station.
f Insert the key.
f Activate the key-operated push-button.
The system can be activated also with an external signal
transmitter (e.g. pay and display ticket machine).

The charging station locks the charging plug mechani-
cally. The vehicle signals the charging station that it is
ready for charging.

ATTENTION
Risk of property damage as a result of incorrect handling
Removing the key in position "I" may damage the lock.
f Before removing the key, turn the key to position "0".
f Remove the key.
Terminating the charging process

Damage to the charging cable
Pulling the cable may cause cable breaks and other dama-
ges.
f Remove the charging cable only by pulling the plug
from the charging socket.
f End the charging process from the vehicle or the
sustained signal from the external signal transmitter.
f Remove the charging cable by pulling the plug from the
charging socket.
Power failure during charging process
A power failure aborts the charging process.
The charging plug inserted into the charging socket of the
charging station is released and can be removed.
If the charging plug cannot be removed from the charging
station, an actuator has interlocked the charging plug
mechanically.
