13 THERMOSTAT INSTALLATION

13.1 WOOD FURNACE ONLY

The furnace must be connected to a thermostat. You can use the one provided with the unit or use one that is already
installed in your home. The thermostat must be installed on an inside wall and located where it is not likely to be affected
by the draft coming from an air outlet. It must be installed at a minimum of 55 inches (140 cm) above the floor.
Thermostat use will help you maintain a constant temperature throughout the house. A fixed wall mounted 24v
thermostat is required.
Thermostat manufacturer's instruction always overrides the information published in the following section.
Thermostat location
Must be installed on an inside wall of the house.
Where it will be the least affected by affected by
air currents from a hot air outlet or cold outside
walls.
Must be installed at a minimum of 55" (140 cm)
above the floor.
Must be installed at a minimum of 15' (4.57 m)
from the furnace and must not receive radiation
heat from the glass door.
Thermostat wiring
Before
installing
disconnect the furnace from the outlet.
Use an 18 AWG 2 strand wire.
The terminal block is located at the back on
the left side of the furnace when facing it. It
is identified with the letter "T".
Loosen the two screws in the middle of the
terminal block and insert the wires in the
terminal. Tighten the two screws.
Open the thermostat housing and connect
the wires following the manufacturer's
instructions.
