Time Constant
The time constant represents the level of signal filtering. A preset value is used for both digital
and analog outputs. A slower (longer) time constant value decreases the overall noise on the
detector output, but also decreases the response speed (response delay– time lag) and changes
the shape of peaks (they are wider and lower). Time constant does not have an influence on peak
area size, even if the value widens and lowers the peak.
exAMpLe
The narrowest, expected peak half width in the analysis is 8 s; therefore, the recommended time
constant is 1 s.
For standard chromatography analysis, the 1 s default value is usually suitable.
Bandwidth
Setting math bandwidth in the 4–10 nm range. The left and right arrow keys move the cursor, and
up and down arrow keys change the value. Press
default bandwidth value is 8 nm.
