Chapter 3 Input Modes

When using a handheld, you need to input
text information from time to time. For
instance, when you want to add a new
phonebook, write a new message, or set a
certain function, you need to use the correct
input mode.
In German, the handheld provides several
input modes:
·Smart German: You can enter German words
in this mode.
·German alphabet: You can enter a single
German alphabet in this mode.
·Smart English: You can enter English words
in this mode.
·English alphabet: You can enter a single
English alphabet in this mode.
·123: You can enter digits in this mode.
·Sign: You can enter signs in this mode.

Switching between input modes

When you access text input, the current input
mode is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
You can press the # key to switch to another
input mode, or hold the # to select the upper
case or lower case.

English input

In English input mode, you may sequentially
press the key of a letter in a word, and the
system searches the library and then displays
the matched words. You may also hold the #
key to switch between the upper case and the
lower case.
