Joining a group call/broadcast call

You can join a group call or broadcast call in
the following ways:
1 When you receive the alert tone for a group
or broadcast call, you can join the call.
2 During a group or broadcast call, you can
enter the number of the group or broadcast
call in standby mode. The handheld
automatically joins the group or broadcast
call.
Occupying uplink during an ongoing
group call
During a group call, the screen prompts you
to press the PTT key if the right to speak is
available. In this case, you can hold the PTT
key to gain the right to speak. If you
successfully gain the right to speak, the
handheld prompts you to speak. In this case,
you can address the group; otherwise, an
audible and visual indication will be given. If
you release the PTT key, you will resume
listening only. If no prompt for speaking is

displayed on the screen, you can only listen to
the group call.
Note: You cannot occupy the uplink of an
ongoing broadcast call.
Receiving a point-to-point call in an
ongoing group call or broadcast call
When you receive a point-to-point call during
a group or broadcast call, the handheld
notifies you that you have a new paging
message. Press the call key to wait for the
alert tone message of this paging message.
Before this:
If you have the right to speak in a group call,
release this right, and exit the group call.
If you are a listener during a group call, exit
the group call.
If you are the initiator of a broadcast call, end
the broadcast call.
If you are the recipient of a broadcast call, exit
the call temporarily.
After viewing the alert tone message of a new
point-to-point call, press the call key to
answer this call or press the hang-up key to
