Remove and Replace the Crystal Plate

The crystal plate should be replaced every 12 to 18 months or as needed.
WARNING
NOTICE
Take care to prevent anything from falling into the instrument when the cover is removed.
MATERIALS NEEDED
3/32" hex key

Remove the crystal plate
1. Remove the dust cover from the crystal.
2. Using the 3/32" hex key, completely loosen the three screws holding the crystal plate to the
instrument.

Avoid toxic inhalation and ingestion.
Zinc selenide (ZnSe) is toxic. Refer to the manufacturer's ZnSe Safety Data
Sheet at www.specac.com for handling and exposure controls.
Wear protective gloves when cleaning or replacing the crystal plate.
