4.3.2
You may want to change the Calibration Method after the original calibration to
improve the fit. A discussion of the difference between the Calibration Methods
(Exponent or Alpha or Hyperbolic) is given in section
To change the Calibration Method, select the CalSet from the Main screen. Select
the desired Method from the UTIL Screen. If you cannot change the Method on the
UTIL Screen, you may need to unlock the calibration. Refer to section
Calibration Method Lock
button for the Sample Table Screen. Press the RECALC button and inspect the
results to verify the calibration has improved.
4.3.3
When you are satisfied with the fit, you must store the calibration to preserve the
new coefficients through the next power cycle. Return to the CAL Screen and press
the LOCK SELECTED button. This allows the user to select the calibration set with
the proper coefficients and method after a power cycle. If you desire to modify the
calibration later, you may follow the steps in the previous sections after entering the
calibration level password.
4.3.4
You may initialize all the records in a particular CalSet by using the Transfer to All
Records function. This is useful if you have previous data in a CalSet that you want
to erase before starting a new calibration. Follow the instructions for section
Modifying Sample Data
4.4
CAPTURE Procedure – Using Sample Table Control
When an empty CalSet is to be calibrated, it is recommended to run the "Captures" from
the Sample Table. This method is more direct than using the Capture Buffer but can be
confusing if data records already exist in a CalSet. If you desire to clear the data from a
CalSet before starting a calibration, please refer to section
1. With the analyzer powered and Status of "Ready" shown, turn the Local/Remote switch to the Local
position. Fill the flow cell with the first capture sample and let it become thermally stable (about ½ hour).
This sample temperature can be monitored from the UTIL screen by pressing the "Temperature" button
