Preparation before next use of device

Assembling and fitting patient-specific accessories and consumables

WARNING
Risk due to particles and dust
In order to protect the patient from particles
and dust, a filter must be used between the in-
spiratory limb of the compact breathing sys-
tem and the patient.
Use a filter on the Y-piece or at the inspiratory
port.
 Complete the device with the following
accessories:
– Breathing bag
– Breathing hoses
– Filter (option, not shown)
– Sample line
CAUTION
Risk of insufficient ventilation due to damaged
breathing hoses
The breathing hoses can be damaged if not re-
moved properly.
Ambient air can enter the breathing gas or breath-
ing gas can escape as a result of leakages.
If the coil reinforcement of a breathing hose is
damaged, there is risk of kinking or occlusion.
– Attach or disconnect breathing hoses only at
the connection sleeves.
– Check the breathing hoses for damage before
each use.
– Do not use damaged breathing hoses.
WARNING
Risk of burns
Conductive breathing hoses can cause burns
during HF surgery.
Do not use any antistatic or conductive
breathing hoses.

Risk of insufficient ventilation due to stuck
valves
Silicone spray can get into the breathing sys-
tem and cause the valves to stick.
Do not spray the nozzles on the compact
breathing system with silicone spray.
NOTE
Fabius does not contain any components made of
natural rubber latex.
To minimize the risk of contact with latex, use
breathing bags and breathing hoses manufac-
tured without natural latex.
