Clean the aftertreatment DEF dosing unit cap
and threads on the dosing unit with warm water
and a clean cloth.
Never operate the truck with the DEF cap
removed.
(3) Install
Slide the DEF filter equalizing element (2) into
the DEF filter cartridge (3).
Insert the assembly into the aftertreatment DEF
dosing unit.
Install and tighten the cap (1). A 27 mm wrench
can be used to install and tighten the filter cap.
Tightening torque : 2.0 kgf m (14.5 lbf ft)
Lubrication of the DEF filter O-rings is not
required.
The aftertreament DEF dosing system will
not prime until the correct SCR temperatures
are reached. To verify that there are no DEF
leaks, test drive the truck for a minimum of
15 mimutes to get the SCR system up to
temperature.

component of the aftertreatment system. It is
also unlawful to use a catalyst solution that
does not meet the specifications provided or
the operate the truck with no catalytic
solution.
