General safety notes

Hazard due by particular location / ambient conditions
Hazard due to toxic and harmful fumes, gases and substances (e. g. bacteria, viruses). If the
backwater valve is located in an inspection chamber, any necessary work must always be carried
out by skilled personnel (see 3.2).
Health hazard
The backwater valve has been designed for wastewater without sewage, which can contain
hazardous substances, Make sure eyes, mouth and skin do not come into direct contact with
the wastewater or parts of the system soiled by it. In case of direct contact, the part of the
body affected must be thoroughly washed immediately and disinfected if necessary. Wear
personal protective equipment.
Hazard due to harmful atmosphere
There is a risk of a hazardous atmosphere occurring in the inspection chamber during work.
Make sure the system is well aerated and use safety equipment such as e.g. a multi-gas
warning device if appropriate.
Do not use the product as a climbing aid!
Walking on the product is prohibited.
