Notes on general DP master
The DP master can request the diagnostic
information from the valve terminal by means of
the function Slave_Diag. The valve terminal
replies with an octet string of length 15.
Diagnostic possibilities
The Festo valve terminal offers extensive diag-
nostic posibilities via the PROFIBUS-DP. The
diagram below shows the steps necessary for
diagnosing the valve terminal. Only those diag-
nostic bits are shown which require a further
diagnostic step.
