Installing the Unit in the Shelf
Description
Connects the DTE circuit ground to DCE circuit ground
providing a path between the DTE and DCE signal
commons.
Signals on this circuit are generated by the DTE and are
transferred to the local DCE for transmission of data to
remote DCE or for maintenance or control of the local DCE.
Signals on this circuit are generated by the DCE in
response to data signals received from the remote DCE, or
for maintenance or control purposes. In all systems, the
DCE does not transfer data to the DTE on this circuit unless
an ON condition is present on 107 (DCE Ready) and 108/2
(DTE Ready).
Signals on this circuit are used to indicate whether the DCE
is ready to operate. The ON condition indicates that the
DCE is ready to exchange data with the DTE.
