Network Connections
The connection to the DS-3 network is made via the two front panel BNC connectors. The 734A-
type 75-ohm coax cable number is GDC No. 026H004-xxx.
Note
To meet all DS-3 specifications, GDC recommends using this specific cable
Electrical Power Connection
The DSU obtains power directly from its shelf or enclosure. See your shelf/enclosure manuals for
power and grounding instructions.
SC2000 Shelf Craft Connection
The SC 800 T3 hardware supports the SC2000 craft port (8-position modular jack) which is used to
support a VT-100 terminal for configuration and diagnostics.
Business Equipment Connections (DTE)
The HSSI interface for the SC 800 T3 DSU is a front panel 50-pin high-density (SCSI-2) connector.
To route the front panel cables to the rear of the rack, use the optional cable tray, GDC part number
010B224-001. This tray occupies 1 rack unit (1.75 inches of rack space) below the SpectraComm
Shelf.
