Target BG (your ideal BG level,
measured in mg/dL)
Although you do not need to define
every setting, some pump features
require certain settings to be defined
and activated. When you are creating a
new profile, your pump prompts you to
set up any required settings before you
can continue.
The ranges you can set for Timed
Settings are:
Basal (range: 0 and 0.1 to 15 units/
hr)
NOTE
Basal Limit Setting: The basal rate may
not exceed the Basal Limit set in Pump
Settings
(Section 4.10 Basal
Limit). If you
are setting your Basal Limit after you have
set any of your Personal Profiles, you
cannot set your Basal Limit lower than any
of your existing basal rates.
NOTE
Control-IQ Technology and Basal Rates
Greater than 3 Units/Hour: If Control-IQ
technology is on and the pump has not
received a CGM reading for 20 minutes, the
system will automatically limit your basal
rate to a maximum of 3 units/hour.
Examples of CGM readings not being
received include when pump and CGM and
pump are out of range, during the sensor
startup period, or when a sensor session
ends. If you enter a value for your basal rate
that is higher than 3 units/hour, you will
receive less insulin than expected in this
scenario.
WARNING
Control-IQ technology limits basal rate to 3
units/hour when the pump has not received
a CGM reading for 20 minutes. For
example, when the pump and CGM are out
of range, during the sensor startup period,
when a sensor session ends, or when there
is a transmitter or sensor error. In order to
receive more than 3 units/hour during these
scenarios, turn Control-IQ technology off.
Correction Factor (range: 1 unit:1
mg/dL to 1 unit:600 mg/dL)
Carb Ratio (range: 1 unit:1 gram to
1 unit:300 grams)
Below a carb ratio of 1:10,
increments can be entered in 0.1
gram. For example a carb ratio of
1:8.2 can be programmed.
CHAPTER 5 • Insulin Delivery Settings
Target BG (range: 70 mg/dL to 250
mg/dL)
In addition, you can set any or all of the
following Bolus Settings:
Insulin Duration (how long a bolus
lowers your BG)
Carbs (ON indicates entering grams
of Carb; OFF indicates entering
units of insulin)
The default settings and ranges for
Bolus Settings are as follows:
Insulin Duration (default: 5 hrs;
range: 2 to 8 hrs)
NOTE
Control-IQ Technology Insulin Duration:
When using Control-IQ technology, the
insulin duration is set to five hours and
cannot be changed. This duration is used
for all bolus deliveries as well as for basal
adjustments made by the automated insulin
dosing feature.
Carbs (default: dependent on pump
history)
